Joel S. Schuman, M.D.


Joel Schuman, MD, is the principal investigator of the AIG clinical center at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Schuman is Professor and Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology and the Director of the UPMC Eye Center. He is also a professor of bioengineering. Dr. Schuman received his medical degree at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York, NY. He completed his residency at the Medical College of Virginia and a glaucoma fellowship at Howe Laboratory of Ophthalmology in Boston, MA. His research interests include imaging of the eye, laser-tissue interactions, aqueous outflow, and clinical pharmacology.

 


Robert Noecker, M.D.


 

Robert Noecker, MD, is a Professor of Ophthalmology, vice chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology, and Director of the Glaucoma Service of UPMC Eye Center. Dr. Noecker completed his residency at the Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina and his Glaucoma Fellowship at the New England Eye Center, Tufts-New England Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. His research interests include imaging of the eye and ocular pharmacology.

 


Gadi Wollstein, M.D.


Gadi Wollstein, MD, is an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology and Director of Ophthalmic Imaging Research Laboratories at UPMC Eye Center. Dr. Wollstein completed his residency at the Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem, Israel. He completed his glaucoma fellowship at the Moorsfield Eye Hospital in London, and the New England Eye Center, Tufts-New England Medical Center, Boston, MA. His research interests include imaging of the eye.

 


Hiroshi Ishikawa, M.D.


Dr. Ishikawa is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology and Bioengineering, and Director of the Ocular Imaging Center, UPMC Eye Center. Dr. Ishikawa completed his residency at Mie University, Japan, and his glaucoma fellowship at Mie University, and the New York Eye & Ear Infirmary in New York. His research interests include ocular imaging and image processing/analysis.

 

 


Larry Kagemann, M.S.


Mr. Kagemann is an Assistant Professor at the UPMC Eye Center. He received his Masterís degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Miami, and his bachelorís degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Iowa. His research interests include metabolic and structural imaging of the eye.
